ARE THE BLACKSMITHS
I.
1 Sam. 13:22 Vs 19 “now there was no blacksmith to
be found throughout all the land of Israel..”
19 “lest the Hebrews
make swords and spears” vs 22 “neither
sword nor spear found in the hand of any ...”
A. Just as the Philistines
had stripped Israel of it’s blacksmiths, leaving them empty
handed, no spiritual weapons:
1. The devil has
attempted to strip the church if it’s: “Mighty Warriors”,
and spiritual weapons
a IT IS TIME TO
REARM THE CHURCH
2. Paul teaches on
spiritual warfare in:
a. 1 Tim 6:12, 2 Tim
4:7, Eph 6:11, 2 Cor 10:4
b. Where are the
spiritual blacksmiths in the church:
(1) who know how to
flow in the anointing & break the yoke (4) Move in spiritual
authority
(2) move in the gifts
of the Holy Spirit (5) walk by
faith
(3) cast out devils
(6) flow in intercession
II.
This is not the time of Micah 4:2 where we are told to turn our
swords in plowshares: (1000 yr. millennial reign)
A. Jesus said: Matt. 11:12
“the Kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violet take
it by force”
1. 2 Tim. 1:6 “stir
up the gift of God” Def. Stir up: fire /
fiery Amp. “Rekindle...fan the flame ..”
2. Instead of the saints
gathering around the altar, they gather around a cup of cappuccino in
our churches
a. The Paul knew
nothing about being “user friendly”, but he did know:
“The Power of the Cross”
b. The Early Church
did not attempt to make people feel comfortable: Rather they
preached Repentance
c. Believers in
the book of Acts did not entertain their children with witchcraft:
like harry Potter books, movies, etc. Rather: they burned
all such materials Acts 17:11
d. King David used
no trick in attempts to persuade men to follow him toward his
destiny: David held his meetings in a cave,
all David had was a prophetic word, an anointing, and the call of God
upon his life: yet people who lives were broken (in
distress, discontent, & in debt) were drawn to him & became a
mighty army
III.
David’s army is a prophetic picture of the Church:
A.
1 Chron 12:1-2 mighty men, helpers in the war & vs
8 mighty men of valor, men trained for battle
1. Ps 18:34 “He
(God) teacheth my hands to war” Ps 144:1 “teacheth my
hands to war & my fingers to fight”
2. 1 Chron 12:22 “they
came to David day by day to help..”
3. 1 Chron 12:32 “men
that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel
ought to do”
4. 1 Chron 12:44 “went
forth to battle, expert in war...could keep rank...not
of a double heart”
5. ! Chron 12:37-38 “all
manner of instruments of war...men of war... keep
rank...perfect heart”
B. Prv. 27:17 “iron
sharpenth iron”
1. Blacksmiths work on
iron & know how to sharpen it / same true of spiritual
blacksmiths
a. sit under anointed
blacksmiths: preaching
b. prayer with anointed
blacksmiths / intercessors
C. When in the midst of the
battle remember: 2 Tim 1:7 “God has not given us the spirit of
fear..power”
IV.
In the Old Testaments Leaders did not go into battle alone, they had
an armorbearer: Your pastor should never go into
spiritual warfare alone: DETERMINE TO BE AN ARMOR BEARER TO YOUR
PASTOR!!!!!
A.
1 Sam 14:6 “young man who bore his armor”
1. Attitude of an
Armorbearer : vs 7 “Do all that is in your heart....I
am with you according to your heart”
B. 1 Sam 14:1 “Look
the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have
hidden”
1. When David faced
Goliath, The army of Israel was hiding from him
a. The comment made by
the Philistines about Israel coming out of their holes & hiding
place. reveals the same
characteristic of the
church today in regards to spiritual warfare: attempting to hide from
the devil & warfare
C.
Pick up your SWORD OF THE SPIRIT & SHIELD OF FAITH &
BE AN ARMOR BEARER IN BATTLE
1. Note the armorbearer
in the following verses: 1 Sam. 14: 6, 7, 12, & 13

A.
Rekindle the fires of a spiritual blacksmith in your life: and rearm
yourself with spiritual weapons for spiritual warfare:
1. 2 Tim. 1:6 “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God..”
